Image of the Month - April 2019
Congratulations to @astrostace (via Instagram) who has won our April Image of the Month competition.
This is Messier 104 also known as the Sombrero galaxy. Here Stacey combined three colour exposures (blue, red and visual) each 90 seconds in length to create this absolutely stunning observation. The Sombrero is a lenticular galaxy and has a diameter of approximately 50,000 light-years.
