In March 2011, the BBC's Sky at Night programme will be celebrating its 700th edition. During the 53 unbroken years the series has remained on-air, it has been hosted by Sir Patrick Moore, which is by far a world record for a programme being hosted by the same writer and broadcaster.

As part of the 700th episode celebrations, the Sky at Night team will be running a special 'Question and Answer' programme, where a panel of astronomy experts will answer questions from viewers. We have been asked by the producers to encourage lots of interesting questions from teachers and students; so if there is anything at all about space that baffles you, or you would just like to find out more about a particular subject, then please submit your question at the following link:

As guidance, the producers are looking for sensible questions from the following broad range of topics:

  • Observing
  • The Solar System
  • Space Missions
  • Cosmology
  • Manned Space Exploration
  • The Sky at Night programme
  • The Bizarre and Unexplained
The more questions, the better, so please encourage your students and friends to get involved.
