The Orion Nebula - M42

I was looking through the request forms and I can't find the Orion Nebula. It's not in by it's name, M42, Messier 42 or NGC 1976.

Am I missing something or is it not on the catalog of galaxies for observation on the NSO?

Dr. R. Moynihan.

Dear Dr. R. Moynihan,

Dear Dr. R. Moynihan,

Unfortunately the entire Orion Nebula system is far too large to get in a single observation using the telescope - as this is the closest star formation region to the Earth, it's very large in the night sky. In order to see the whole nebula we would need to take almost 40 separate images and stitch them together. Therefore, we cannot easily observe this object with the Liverpool Telescope. There are other similar objects in the catalogue though, such as NGC1893 or the Heart Nebula.
