Dosbarthu Galaethau

Wedi’i anelu at ddisgyblion 14-18 oed, mae’r gweithgaredd hwn yn cyflwyno’r disgyblion i’r Cynllun Dosbarthu Hubble ar gyfer galaethau ac mae’n rhoi her i’r disgyblion i drio dosbarthu amrywiaeth o alaethau go iawn. Gall fod yn ddefnyddiol hefyd fel ffordd o drafod y gwahanol fathau o alaethau yn y Bydysawd.

Delweddu 3-Lliw

Wedi’i anelu at ddisgyblion 11-16 oed mae’r gweithgaredd hwn yn rhoi cyfle i’r disgyblion astudio sut mae delweddau hidlo yn cyfuno i greu delweddau lliw a hefyd, drwy ddefnyddio meddalwedd seryddol, cynhyrchu delweddau 3-lliw o wrthrych seryddol eu hunain.

Kepler's Laws

Aimed at pupils aged 14-18, this activity will focus on investigating Kepler's three laws of planetary motion, with a particular emphasis on Kepler's Third Law: The Law of Periods, which explains the relationship between the distance from an orbiting body to a system's centre of mass and its period of orbit.

Pupils 16-18 / more able students: The relationship will also be put to the test by calculating the mass of the host star of the stellar system TRAPPIST-1 using the known orbital periods of its exoplanets. 

3-Colour Imaging

Aimed at pupils aged 11-16, this workshop provides students with an opportunity to use astronomical software, study how filtered images combine to make coloured images and allows the students to have a go creating their own 3-colour images of astronomical objects.

Lunar Mountains

Aimed at pupils aged 11-16, this workshop challenges students to measure the shadows cast on the Moon’s surface, then utilise algebraic techniques to determine the height of those mountains.
