Exploring Light

Astronomers use telescopes to see objects far away in space. Did you know that we can only see an object if it emits light or if it reflects light? 

In this activity you will investigate how reflective objects can be used to change the direction of a beam of light. 

By the end of this activity you will:

  • Have used your knowledge of how light behaves to solve a problem
  • Understand that some telescopes contain mirrors to direct the path of light
