NGC7331, also known as Caldwell 30, is a spiral galaxy which lies almost 38 million light years from Earth in the constellation Pegasus. It was discovered in 1784 by William Herschel. Caster1 has cleverly used a false colour (in this case blue) to help improve visibility of the dust lanes in the spiral arms. You can use our LTImage software to have a go and try a false colour version yourself using the FITS file below.
