Measure Mountains on the Moon

Did you know there are mountains on the Moon? How tall do you think they are? Are they higher than mountains on Earth?

Complete this activity to find out! You will use high resolution images of the Moon and a bit of maths to investigate the answer.

By the end of this activity you will:

  • Have investigated whether mountains are taller on Earth or the Moon
  • Know how to work out the height of objects using their shadows

To complete this activity you will need:

  • A ruler or tape measure
  • A calculator
