The Liverpool Telescope (LT) is one of the world's largest robotic telescopes. Through The Schools' Observatory (TSO), you can use it to explore the Universe. Whether you're a student, teacher, or just curious about space, TSO gives you free access to the LT and other robotic telescopes. We also have lots of fun things to do and learn about!
The mural was commissioned in 2025 by the Astrophysics Research Institute at Liverpool John Moores University to showcase the wonder of the Liverpool Telescope, built in Liverpool but now located on the Canary Island of La Palma. The mural is based on a still from the video created by Daniel López and was painted by the well-known Liverpool street artist Paul Curtis. The mural itself measures 7 x 5 metres, which is slightly smaller than the telescope, which is 8.5 x 6.5 metres.
